Guide to moving home
It's a big deal, and there is a lot to remember and to organise, but you are nearly done, boxes packed, delivery vans arranged,
but before you start to move your belongings in to your new home are there any last questions you should ask regarding the
property you are moving into.
Indeed there are, and we have compiled a list from around the internet, and general experience where it has come to light that it
would have been handy to know something, but the time has gone and the opportunity lost.
So here it is.
1. Where can you find the gas and electric meters, are they outside the house, or hidden away under the stair or in a cupboard.
( It's difficult enough resetting the electrical supply after a surge has tripped the system out when you know the location. Imagine
the same scenario in a dark unfamiliar house. )
2. Where is the stopcock, to close off the water supply.
3. Are there any sensitive surface areas that might require specialist cleaning products.
4. Regular bin and recycled goods collection days.
5. Where did you get tiles and any fixed furniture from? / Do you have manuals for any electrical equipment? cooker boiler etc.
6. Who supplies the broadband and phone to the property.
7. Where can I buy a decent bottle of wine?
